Have Fun

Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian ended up being a really good movie (very inspirational). The movie pretty much summed up what life is about in two words, two words that I have been trying to tell people for years: have fun.

Amelia Earhart: Do you know why I became a pilot?
Larry Daley: I have no idea.
Amelia Earhart: For the fun of it. Why else would anyone do anything?

That line sticks out to me, and I already know people are going to say "But some people don't have a choice..." or "Some people do what needs to be done in order to make others happy at the expense of themselves." You don't need to hurt yourself in order to make others happy. You find something that you love and have fun doing it, and you'll never work a day in your life. Just like Abraham Lincoln says:

Every man is proud of what he does well; and no man is proud of what he does not do well. With the former, his heart is in his work; and he will do twice as much of it with less fatigue. The latter performs a little imperfectly, looks at it in disgust, turns from it, and imagines himself exceedingly tired. The little he has done, comes to nothing, for want of finishing.

Life is too short to let the days go buy without smiling. Life is too spontaneous to try to plan things out and set them in stone before they ever happen. Life is too much fun to "squander our nights away in self-pity" (another quote from Night at the Museum 2). If you hear me say it a lot, don't worry, just think of it as a reminder to do one of the most important things in life:

Have fun.
